SO excited to share with everyone that I was interviewed by the New York Times last week and it’s scheduled to run in the Travel section of this Sunday’s (May 25) print edition. I’m honored by this opportunity to discuss the Travel with Aging Parents mission with an even wider audience, a sign of the increased interest in this topic since I launched this blog last August.

International NY Times (#2)

Val Grubb interview in the International New York Times. Thanks for forwarding Tracey Starr!

Oddly enough, the article has already shown up overseas. My friend Tracey Starr sent me this picture of the article from the International New York Times:

And two Australian friends sent me the link to the article in The Age:

I’m famous overseas!  ha, ha, ha. Look for it online sometime today (hopefully!) before Sunday’s print edition comes out.

I was practically bouncing off the walls with nervousness while waiting to speak with the reporter, Emily Brennan! We spoke for over an hour about the impetus for starting my blog as well as my history of travels with Mom. Her engagement and interest in the subject impressed me, and she covered a lot of territory during our conversation!

Honors like this make all the hard work worthwhile—though I have to admit that I enjoy what I’m doing so much that it rarely feel like actual work! Thank you for trusting me to help you travel (perhaps for the first time) with your aging parent. Here’s to your continued travels!
