Probably not surprising to anyone reading this, but at the top of my list of things I am thankful for is my MOM.  She has been such an inspiration in my life on so many levels and I’ve benefited from her unwavering support, even as I’ve confounded her with my choices in everything from careers to lipsticks!  She’s exactly the kind of mom you hope every child has growing up.

I’m also incredibly lucky to have such a great brother, Eric.  He has been the voice of reason (and at times torture!), but he’s always loved me no matter what.  I know if the s**t hits the fan, he would be the first in line to help.  Even if I would have to take a raft of abuse for getting myself in to the situation to begin with, it’s still comforting to know someone would indeed be there if I needed support.

Beyond my brother, I’m also quite lucky to have such a great sister-in-law Memory and my two ridiculously adorable nieces, Dani and Niki.  I’ve never wanted children of my own, but my life is SO MUCH BETTER for being an aunt.  I cannot wait for all of you to move back to the States so we can spend more time together.  It’s gonna be AWESOME!

I am also thankful for my brother Wheaton and his adorable family!  My life is richer for them being in it, although I wish we got to see one another more often.  Thank goodness for Faceboo.

Finally, to all my friends who have become family (you know who you are), my life is better because you’re in it!  And even though I may drive you a little crazy (or perhaps a lot), know it’s done from a place of love.

To everyone reading this, I hope you have the opportunity to spend today with people you love (even if they drive you a little crazy too).  Happiest of Thanksgivings to you and yours!

October 2004: Our last family trip to Branson, MO – my father sadly passed away unexpectedly a year later. It still hurts.
