I don’t have all the details yet although I’m slated for Friday afternoon, September 5th. Please drop a note here or shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you’re attending the conference as I would love to grab a coffee (or cocktail!) with any Travel with Aging Parents followers!
There are some heavy hitters speaking at the conference including Samantha Brown (host of the Travel Channel’s Great Weekends and AARP Travel Ambassador), Jennifer Ashton (co-host of The Doctors and author of Your Body Beautiful), Erin Brockovich (environmental activist), Frank Abagnale (best-selling author of Catch Me If You Can) and Jean Chatzky (financial editor, NBC’s The Today Show) just to name a few.
Prior to the conference kick-off, I’m attending the 2014 AARP Best Employers International Program and Awards hosted by Jean Chatzky, AARP Financial Ambassador. The program honors organizations that value the skills and talents of experienced workers, progressively work to meet their needs, and provide a path for future workers. This year, AARP International, together with its regional partners, is recognizing twelve organizations from eight countries which have demonstrated exemplary practices in the employment of older workers.
I’ll be live tweeting from the conference so follow me at @parenttravel to get updates as the conference unfolds September 4 – 6th in San Diego. Much more to come!
